When a Wednesday night regatta comes racing right through your anchorage! Free happy hour entertainment! This was some sporty sailing (in 18-20 knots of breeze) and they were really showing off their keels. So fun to see them zip right around UbiQ on the hook near Vilano Beach in St. Augustine. Sometimes I see a photo of myself and wonder how this could possibly be my life. My amazing life … 🥰 but then I remember it’s all about choices, and hard work, and a lot of luck and I’m just grateful. This me, my world, and the life that I’ve built. Salty sailors converge in Key West! It seems many roads cross here. Ran into BaBaLu (to my right) two slips down from us at the City Marina in Key West Bight and Russ (to my left) who captains the Appledore Star schooner there. Russ helped us re-build our stringers and mast step on our Niagara back in 2016 and BaBaLu is a long-time fellow Pensacola sailor whom crossed wakes with for years. Turns out 46’ is a whole lot more than 35’. Just completed my first solo bottom scrub on UbiQ. She’s got an impressive hull done there but a BIG one. Whew! Caught sight 👀 of the Geckos sailing by us recently outside of No Name Harbour near Miami. It’s pretty cool when you’ve been cruising a while and you keep crossing paths with the same awesome folks.
