Never a dull moment on a boat. Cranked the generator (yes, it's weird we have one of those now) a couple of days ago and was not getting any water exhaust. Hmmpfh. After verifying no clog between the intake and raw water pump, I cracked open the pump to find the most jacked-up flanges I'd ever seen. The whole impeller had ripped off the center post and jammed up in the corner. Time to bust out the spare impeller kit and get to work! This salty sailor got her fixed and cranked again with a lovely spew of water out the back. Just another day ... 😊

Here are some answers! 🏝 😎 In early December, our schedules and the weather lined up to allow Phillip and I to make a short (20-day) preliminary hop over to the Bahamas and back, so we decided to share our experience for those of you planning to sail there and as an update to my Bahamas Top 10 Slides at HaveWind and to offer some insight into current international travel procedures as well as an update on the status of (a portion of) the Abacos post-Dorian since this was our first time traveling there since 2019. Up on the HaveWind blog today: July Fourth brings friends, fireworks, and our first gale aboard UbiQ! I love writing up these memories. Makes me so proud of the adventures Phillip and I savor, the tales we spin, and the friends we spin them with! Enjoy! I don’t think Phillip and I will ever forget the group photo from this evening. It told us we had made incredible new friends in Annapolis, that we had incredible friends from home who (this visit had told us) could easily come stay aboard with us and visit us on UbiQ any time (or place, but not both!), and that UbiQ was a gallant, spacious, capable boat meant to take us—and any friends who wanted to come—to incredible new places. Made it to the Bahamas!! ⛵️🥰🇧🇸 Covid protocol for entry wasn’t too bad at all. Checked in at West End and have been buddy boating along the northern remote Abacos with some new friends @forsunandstars on their Caliber 40 s/v Turtle. Just left our (NEW!) boat name at the Allans Pensacola signing tree. It’s a happy life we’re living on island time! #havewindwilltravel #outbound46 #bahamas
