#20: Progressive Boozer Cruiser

#20: Progressive Boozer Cruiser

October 30, 2015anniedike

One night.  Eight boats.  And an all-out costume and drink-themed progressive boozer cruiser.  Can you handle this?

Thanks to my Patrons who help me share the journey.  Get inspired.  Get on board.

I may have had just a little too much fun doing this. But is there such a thing? Anyone want to try to guess our dinghy’s name?? 😄 #havewindwilltravel
They certainly make the instructions easy. Point it at the sky. Plug it in. Connect to wifi. 🤣Going to give STARLINK a try on UbiQ! 💫 Has anyone else tried it on a boat yet? Reviews? Tips? #starlink #outbound46 #havewindwilltravel
Phillip and I would never even have known about this anchorage if it weren't for a pro tip from a fellow cruiser. Surprising even us, our second favorite anchorage while cruising south down the east coast this past season was South Beach Miami, anchored out next to Flagler Island. We were just a short dinghy ride from all that South Beach has to offer (tours, art, museums, Muscle Beach, exceptional ethnic food, shopping, theatre - we caught the world premiere of When Monica Met Hillary, highly recommend). Not to mention everything in reach of the dinghy dock (Publix, Fresh Market, Trader Joe's, UPS, laundromat, hardware store, etc.). ANNNnnndd kitesurfing!? We found we could dinghy down the canal straight to the beach (25th Street, where we found one lone cleat dropped from the Kite Gods just for us!) where there is a small section cordoned off just for kiters! South Beach was heaven! Check out our South Beach write-up on the HaveWind blog today. I've included our anchor spot and some info on navigating the 65-foot bridges on the way in. Hope to see some of you there this fall! #havewindwilltravel #southbeach #cruisers
Can’t imagine a better way to celebrate my 40th. 🎉 My first paddle, pop-up, and ride on a wave. 🏄‍♀️ Was it an ankle biter? Absolutely. Does that matter? Not in the least. Look at that smile. I was really proud to get up on my first try. I would have never thought the first time I would try traditional surfing would be in a wetsuit and in Rhode Island but isn’t that the fun of it? Life. You never know. Just grow and age and suck the life out of every day. Here’s to birthdays! Thanks to my love, Phillip, for setting this up for me. He knows I’ll jump on and ride anything rideable. 😉 #havewindwilltravel #newport #surfing #thisis40
Cuttyhunk. What a gem! ❤️ All these places I had never even heard of before, never even knew where they were, and here Phillip and I are, dotting from one to the next, taking each one in. We were greeted by their self-proclaimed "Welcome Committee" boat the minute we pulled into the little harbor, invited to their B&B breakfast the next morning and their local (rather heated) trivia the following evening. We've never felt more welcomed and appreciated as cruisers as we have up here in New England. This place was just a wonderful breath of fresh boat air! 😍 ⛵️ 🌺
Crisp white Navy sailors make a perfect backdrop for me and Bridgett’s beaming faces! 😁 Happy Fourth from Bristol, RI! 💥 We’ve been sailing UbiQ around the Long Island Sound this summer and decided we HAD to head up the Narragansett Bay to Bristol to catch the nation’s longest-running 4th of July parade. It was heartwarmingly Mayberry and even included the local milkman (who still delivers milk to front doors if you can believe it) and the oldest woman in town (Guinevere who is 108!). What a treat! Hope you all had a fantastic Fourth!! ☺️
